Timothy Winters Project update

I'm current working on a new version for the story; because Ive been thinking of this idea for a long time now I'm finding it hard to change from my original plot, but i now feel it needs a make over. i haven't posted the original pre vis i made because its going to change, at the moment my film seems disconnected from the character so a lot of work is needed on the new version. My Timothy Winters character is coming on really well, haven't had any problems so far so once ive got the pre vis finished over the weekend hopefully, i can begin full production of the environments and the rigging process.

Homeward bound and Paolo Nutini Live

I went home recently to see Paolo Nutini live in Birmingham 02 Academy, was full of paisley, beards and trumpets. me and my girlfriend loved it, especially when the microphones didn't work and know body could fix them for a good 20 Min's. watching the band improvise was brilliant, they didn't no what they were doing which made even better! The morning after i witnessed my mom being attacked by a spider in the garden and had the best fried breakfast to brave the trip back to Chatham. Carnt get a better couple of days than that.

Environment- The Black County

My animation is going to be set in the Black Country which is a loosely defined area of the West Midlands which became one of the most intensely industrialised areas in England come the late 19Th century. Coal mines, the coal coking operations, and the iron foundries and steel mills produced a high level of pollution into the air which covered the area in a layer of black soot giving its streets a distinctive look. Most of my family live in the Black County area so i make many nostalgic trips around the abandoned factory's which are still stained in the black soot.

Many of the old streets, houses and factory's have been demolished and replaced but the ones that remain are full of character. The Pavements are made from a dark purple brick which in the sun becomes rich and distinguished, the houses and walls are build using a combination of different orange, red and the odd deep purple bricks which results in a warm and rustic aesthetic to the whole area. i want my animation to capture the nostalgic feeling which i have for the place and to show its architectural quirks and charms.

Control
Ian Curtis is a quiet and rather sad lad who works for an employment agency and sings in a band called Warsaw. He meets a girl named Debbie whom he promptly marries and his band, of which the name in the meantime has been changed to Joy Division, gets more and more successful. Even though Debbie and he become parents, their relationship is going downhill rapidly and Ian starts an affair with Belgium Annik whom he met after one of the gigs and he's almost never at home. Ian also suffers from epilepsy and has no-good medication for it. He doesn't know how to handle the feelings he has for Debbie and Annik and the pressure the popularity of Joy Division and the energy performing costs him

This is England
12 year old Shaun lives with his widowed mother in a small town in Britain. His father, an army officer, was one of the Falkland casualties. A loner, he is befriended by some older skinhead youth, who shave off his hair, date an older young woman, and subsequently introduce him to ex-convict Combo. Shaun unwittingly volunteers to be part of Combo's gang, and is taken to a meeting hosted by Britain's right-winged National Front, which openly advocates ethnic cleansing; re-defines Racism as Reality; and Nazism as Nationalism. Combo then takes his followers on a spree of sword and knife-wielding terror, looting a corner store run by Sandhu, all eventually get stoned, violence ensues - resulting in a murder.

Saturday Night and Sunday Morning

Arthur, one of Britain's angry young men of the 1960s, is a hardworking factory worker who slaves all week at his mindless job for his modest wages. Come Saturday night, he's off to the pub for a loud and rowdy beer session. With him is Brenda, his girlfriend of the moment. Married to a fellow worker, she is nonetheless captivated by his rugged good looks and his devil-may-care attitude. Soon a new love interest Doreen enters and a week later, Brenda announces she's pregnant. She tells Arthur she needs money for an abortion, and Arthur promises to pay for it. By this time, his relationship with Doreen has ripened and Brenda, hearing of it, confronts him. He denies everything, but it's obvious that their affair is all but over

KES

Bullied at school and ignored and abused at home by his indifferent mother and older brother, Billy Casper, a 15-year-old working-class Yorkshire boy, tames and trains his pet kestrel falcon whom he names Kes. Helped and encouraged by his English teacher Mr. Farthing and his fellow students, Billy finally finds a positive purpose to his unhappy existence, until tragedy strikes.

Social Reaism

Social Realism developed as a reaction against idealism and the exaggerated ego encouraged by Romanticism. Consequences of the Industrial Revolution became apparent; urban centers grew, slums proliferated on a new scale contrasting with the display of wealth of the upper classes. With a new sense of social consciousness, the Social Realists pledged to “fight the beautiful art”, any style which appealed to the eye or emotions. They focused on the ugly realities of contemporary life and sympathized with working-class people, particularly the poor. They recorded what they saw in a dispassionate manner.

Timothy Winters by Charles Causley

Timothy Winters comes to school
With eyes as wide as a football pool,
Ears like bombs and teeth like splinters:
A blitz of a boy is Timothy Winters.

His belly is white, his neck is dark,
And his hair is an exclamation mark.
His clothes are enough to scare a crow
And through his britches the blue winds blow.

When teacher talks he won't hear a word
And he shoots down dead the arithmetic-bird,
He licks the patterns off his plate
And he's not even heard of the Welfare State.

Timothy Winters has bloody feet
And he lives in a house on Suez Street,
He sleeps in a sack on the kitchen floor
And they say there aren't boys like him any more.

Old man Winters likes his beer
And his missus ran off with a bombardier.
Grandma sits in the grate with a gin
And Timothy's dosed with an aspirin.

The Welfare Worker lies awake
But the law's as tricky as a ten-foot snake,
So Timothy Winters drinks his cup
And slowly goes on growing up.

At Morning Prayers the Master helves
For children less fortunate than ourselves,
And the loudest response in the room is when
Timothy Winters roars "Amen!"

So come one angel, come on ten:
Timothy Winters says "Amen
Amen amen amen amen."
Timothy Winters, Lord.
Amen!
